BES calendar and new supports for 2012

The Blancpain Endurance Series at SilverstoneThe Blancpain Endurance Series have announced their calendar for 2012 as it enters its second year. After a fantastic year which saw girds grow to introduce three new cars, the 2012 calendar will see the series contest six rounds. Only round six at this time is unconfirmed.

As with 2011, April 15th will see the grid forming on the start line at Monza before a trip over to the UK. The Silverstone round has moved from the end of the season to the second round.

Changes to the calendar include a trip to the Nurburgring. The field will contest the standard three hour race format on the GP-Strecke in late September ahead of a final round in October which is yet to be confirmed.

The full format for the weekends has also been laid out with a full "Blancpain Endurance Weekend" being the way of 2012. Support races will be provided by the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. The Raiging Bull's one make series for Gallardo race cars will contest two fifty minute events over the course of the weekend. The Super Trofeo will race at all BES meetings.

On all but the blue riband event, the Total 24 Hours of Spa, a new series will also meet. The Blancpain Revival Series, which utilises series organisers, the SRO's, vast experience in running historic race meetings, will see grids of race cars from the past juking it out on some of Europe's best circuits. The new series will be open to GT racers from 1994 to 2004. Bring on the McLaren F1 as just one of the cars eligible for the races.

Also available to for racing will be an inevitable abundance of Porsches, the Lamborghini Diablo, Dodge Viper and iconic, Ferrari F40.

The Cooper Tyres British F3 International Series will so run at Paul Ricard, Monza and Spa.
