Gilham to Thorney, Holland to HARD.

Tony Gilham and Thorney Motorsports have announced that they are teaming up for the Snetterton round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this weekend. The Team HARD owner and former Porsche Carrera Cup GB driver will take the helm of the Vauxhall Insignia NGTC car, reuniting him with the Griffin for the first time since Snetterton 2011 when he last raced for 888 Racing with Colins Contractors. Thorney Motorsport have today confirmed that they will not be competing at either Oulton Park or Croft. The team made the announcement via their website and Facebook pages, also confirming via twitter. They have also opted to drop Swindon Engines as a supplier of engine mapping with immediate effect.

Jason Plato for Chevy at Rockingham.Chevrolet and Ray Mallock Limited, (RML) have confirmed that they will not contest the 2012 Dunlop British Touring Car Championship, choosing to focus on their WTCC defence instead. The move leaves GoMobileUK.com With Techspeed as the sole Chevrolet presence in the UK tintop series now ES Racing have switched to Vectras.

25 cars confirmed at BTCC media day.

The Dunlop British Touring Car Championship has confirmed a 25 strong entry list for the 2012 season at its annual media day today. Headed by the #1 Honda Yuasa Racing Team Civic, the list has ten different models from nine manufacturers. In fact there are eleven different models, if you count the two generations of Honda represented.

Plato heads MG line up.

The MG6 Touring CarJason Plato has left the Silverline Chevrolet team for a new role at MG. The MG KX Momentum Racing team will campaign two MG6 GT touring cars built to NGTC spec in 2012. The effort is not as laughable as it initially appears either.
