The second double hour started with a massive crash for the #001 Extreme Speed Motorsports. The #4 Compuware Corvette tapped the #045 Flying Lizard Porsche into a spin. The ‘vette collected the Ferrari 458 on the way around and pitched it into the wall on the last corner.

It was a Peugeot dominated start to the race, with the #8 908 leading the #7. They were unable to break away from the Audi’s however who offered a strong challenge throughout the first phase of the race.

Team Oreca Matmut Peugoet have stolen a march on the new 908 and the R15++ by taking the top spot in the final practice session at Sebring. The Matmut car is racing under Grandfathering rules which restrict the performance of 2010 spec cars to race under the new ACO regulations.

Stephane Sarrazin has taken the top spot in qualifying for Sebring with an astounding 1:46.571. The time which scored second was over a second slower than the Peugeot 908.

Audi have claimed the daylight honors for the 12 hours of Sebring practice sessions though Peugeot claimed the night time bragging rights. The daytime laps were actually slower than earlier testing sessions had yeilded as teams prepared their race pace.
Romain Dumas took the morning session with a 1:49.253 in the #1 Audi R15++. He shares his car with Mike Rockenfeller and Timo Bernhard.
