Rinaldo Capello, a name which will forever be associated with Audi and sportscar success, will no longer adorn the side of an Audi race car. The Italian driver today announced his retirement from top flight prototype racing, leaving the Audi team with which he has raced since 1999 baring a year at Le Mans with Bentley in 2003. Of his fourteen Le Mans starts, only three have not netted a podium finish. Read more: Dindo Hangs Up Helmet.

So, a year has past and it is time once more for the 24 Heures du Mans circus to take centre stage once more. What can we expect then ? Thats a hard one to call, even with the Le Mans Test Day behind us. Sandbags are not only of use in war afterall and you can guarantee that Audi at least were sandbagging at both Spa and the test at Le Sarthe. Read more: LM24: A look ahead.

This distinctive looking fellow is the GreenGT H2, the car named to the 56th garage at Le Mans for 2013. The 56th box is reserved for the single entry class, CDNT, or Cars Debuting New Technologies, which has fielded the Oreca Swiss Hope Racing Hybrid and brings the #0 Nissan DeltaWing to the track in 2012.

Toyota Motorsport are ready to return to the track after the team completed fabrication of their new TS030 chassis. The original test mule was irreparably damaged in a high speed shunt at Paul Ricard, delaying the Japanese manufacturer's return to top line prototype racing. Read more: TS030 ready to roll.
