Look who is back! The Dodge Viper has returned to GT racing after an absence of, erm a week, but this Viper is the first factory backed machine since the Chrysler Motor Company started hitting troubles in the noughties. Other racing has been thanks to the privately held Viper Competition Coupes such as the French run GCR machine in the Blancpain Endurance Series. The streamlined and advanced new body of the SRT Viper has been turned by Riley, into firebreathing GTE competitors, though not without some controversy. Read more: Snake in the Grass.

Black Swan Racing have announced that they will be returning to the GT ranks in the American Le Mans Series, citing the current financial situation at Huntingdon based Lola Cars as the reason for the step back. The team will make the move later this year, or possibly in 2013 according to Speed TV's John Dagys. Read more: Black Swan to GT After Lola Woes.

It is official, the Dodge Viper is back. Not only on the road either as the company, which only three years ago was facing closure, will be hitting the racetracks of the ALMS with a GTE Viper. The new car will feature all the original DNA which created the classic, including the potent V10 which made for one of the best sounding muscle cars in the world. Read more: Viper to bite back.

The penultimate hour of the ALMS at Monterey ended as it began. With unwaved yellow flags and the safety car on track. It was however an hour of cars returning from the dead with both the #11 JDX GTC Porsche and the #23 Alex Job Racing Lotus Evora returning to the circuit. Read more: ALMS Monterey - Hour 5

Rizi Competizione will not be at Sebring this year due to "the current economic climate." Giuseppe Risi, the team boss confirmed that the three time class winner would not be at the inaugural round of the ALMS and new WEC championship. Read more: No Sebring for Risi
